IP cameras
Most IP cameras speak a standard called ONVIF. creekX finds them on your network, works out where their video is, and streams, records and shares them like any other live.
Add a camera, step by step
-
Make a stream for it
Choose Streams, then New stream, and name it after the camera, for example "Front gate".
-
Find the camera
On the stream, under Add an IP camera, choose Find cameras. creekX searches the server's network. Choose yours from the list.
Not listed? Type its address instead: you find it in the camera's own app, or your router's list of devices. Some cameras answer only once ONVIF is turned on in their settings.
-
Sign in to the camera
Type the camera's own user name and password. creekX keeps them encrypted and never shows them again.
-
Add it
Choose Add camera. The stream shows as live as soon as the picture arrives. If the camera goes offline, creekX keeps trying until it is back.
Turn the camera
A camera that can pan, tilt and zoom shows buttons under the picture: use them to turn it from your browser.
Then, like any live
- Let people watch it by a link or on your website (Watch links and your website).
- Send it to YouTube (YouTube, Facebook and more).
- Choose who may watch, and from where (Who may watch and stream).
A camera without ONVIF
Use its RTSP address instead, from the camera's manual or app: on the stream, under Or pull it from a camera or another server, paste it and choose Start pulling.
Remove a camera
Choose Remove camera. The stream stops fetching from it, and waits for OBS, a phone or the browser instead. Recordings already made stay in your videos.
